Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors Degree required preferably in Healthcare Administration or Business Management 2 years
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle is desirable.

Project Coordinator will assist with the development and coordination of the MGH Hemophilia and Thrombosis Treatment Centers 340B Drug Pricing Program
The 340B Drug Pricing Program was established in 1992 to provide qualifying patients with affordable prescription . The program is available to several types of safety net health providers and it allows these providers to stretch the limited federal resources available to them and to offer a comprehensive set of services.
The Project Coordinator is responsible for a variety of program duties in a dynamic environment involving all levels of staff and management. This includes but is not limited to analyzing financial and pharmacy data reviewing monthly billing and reimbursement metrics facilitating new patient enrollment managing membership dues and compliance as well as maintaining the HRSA database.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops and maintains program protocol and documentation including meeting agendas meeting minutes action items patient enrollment templates and records pertaining to Blood Factor Program
  • Participates in weekly and biweekly meetings internally and offsite.
  • Develops and coordinates relationships with multiple departments including: physician practices Pharmacy outside vendors Partners eCare Team Partners Finance Corporate BWPO Finance and professional billing offices.
  • Monitors inventory of blood factor products and ancillary supplies. Ensures pharmacy is adequately stocked.
  • Serves as patient contact for customer service issues and insurance coverage inquiries
  • Serves as a resource for patients regarding the program. Meets with interested patients describe program and obtain required paperwork for enrollment.
  • Maintains regular communication with patients to ensure accuracy of insurance policy coverage
  • Monitors vendor accounts
  • Distributes Office of Pharmacy Affairs and federal guideline updates regarding 340 B factor sales to program leadership. Serves as a resource to the MGH Hemophilia and Thrombosis Treatment Center in these areas.
  • Functions as a liaison with commercial manufacturers government officials national organization members and the local hemophilia community
  • Monitors membership and industry related 340 B websites for upcoming or changing regulations and distributes updates to program leadership
  • Participates as a member of the MGH Hemophilia and Thrombosis Treatment Center at 340 B Program resource group meetings to include Hemophilia Alliance Apexus and the 340 B coalition.
  • Responsible for identifying and escalating issues to Nurse Manager and/or Physician Director as needed
  • Documents activities and develops feedback reports to communicate program findings and activities to collaborators and others involved (e.g. workflows processes program changes etc.
  • Develops and generates reports and queries from state and federal agencies on time and according to guidelines
  • Distributes notices of all new program updates and changes for implementation
  • Initiates and maintains communications with internal and external customers when applicable
  • Maintains positive relationships with all customers and assist them with issues or concerns
  • Maintains Sharepoint site shared Drive and Website
  • Completes projects and presentations as assigned
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
