The Centre for Energy Finance seeks to hire a Research Analyst with interdisciplinary proficiencyin clean energy finance and public policy. The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in market research and intelligence literature review and technical writing along with a working understanding of finance.
Job duties and accountabilities
Primary responsibilities:Research
- Track policy regulatory and market developments associated with the clean energy sector.
Undertake rigorous qualitative and quantitative analysis of market challenges using a varietyof mathematical tools and interdisciplinary methodologies. - Develop fitforpurpose policy regulatory or marketrelated solutions to address challenges.
- Write reports/issue briefs/blogs/opeds for the dissemination of analyses and outreach.
- Collaborate within and across teams and institutions to further CEEWCEFs endeavours.
General responsibilities: Programme Assistance
- Assist with programme implementation including helping with preparing presentations andpolicy recommendations.
- Assist with planning and executing events such as meetings consultation workshops roundtable discussions etc.
- Assist with building relationships with a wider community of industry and government stakeholders in the clean energy domain.
- Support efforts to use new media platforms to widely distribute CEEWCEFs work and in turn engage with the wider community more closely.
- Respond to research requests from senior researchers discuss research needs and prepareresponses that synthesise and analyse information.
- Participate constructively in team meetings.
Requirements
Qualification
The ideal candidate should have a masters degree with a background in RenewableEnergy/Power sector. Masters level degrees in public policy economics or finance in combination with degrees in engineering sustainability energy etc. are desirable.
Professional experience
- 13 years of experience in policy think tanks government fellowships consultancies etc. isdesirable.
- Prior experience in the clean energy sector is desired.
- Experience in stakeholder management would be an added advantage.
- CEEW operates in a dynamic environment and the candidate will be required to show flexibility inundertaking a variety of tasks.
Key skills
- Good writing skills with the ability to write opinion pieces policy briefs and reports.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to engage with senior officials and business leaders. Strong oral communication skills with an interest in public speaking.
