Laborer Water Department
The City of Wilmington is seeking a fulltime laborer for the Water Department. Under immediate supervision the laborer assists with maintenance and repair of the Citys water and distribution system and assists with maintenance of equipment facility and surrounding grounds.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED); or any equivalent combination of education experience and training which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
- Must possess a valid State of Ohio drivers license and must remain insurable under the Citys vehicle insurance plan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Assists in concrete repair and replacement of catch basin curb sidewalks drive approaches manholes; assists in repairing servicing and maintenance of taps mains water lines fire hydrants and service boxes; performs hydrant flushing and valve exercising program
- Maintains the plant towers pits pump stations and surrounding grounds; sweeps gathers and empties trash mows grass and weeds cuts trees sprays fences hauls dirt and stones for service and yard repairs; may perform snow removal operations
- May assist in maintenance of equipment
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance
This positions starting salary is $16.81 per hour.
