Class Summary


This is a parttime position with a maximum of 1508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays leave or benefits.


Job Description
The Parttime Building Brains Anywhere Educational Leader is responsible for program development preparation and facilitation of educational enrichment opportunities working and interacting with children caregivers and staff in a professional and positive manner. The educator must be willing to work in a multitude of settings all while adapting programming to provide a safe and engaging learning experience for all participants.


Essential Duties
  • Developing and implementing developmentally appropriate highquality and engaging educational enrichment experiences for children and their caregivers
  • Orienting monitoring and leading children in literacy science/social studies enrichment and STEAM activities
  • Demonstrating a command of the subjects being taught
  • Sustaining positive audience engagement (youth adults and seniors)
  • Presenting engaging and accurate K12 program content
  • Assisting in educational training opportunities for diverse communities
  • Ensuring smooth transitions from one activity to another
  • Ensuring the safety of participants
  • Utilizing strong written and oral expression
  • Communicating all issues and concerns with supervisor
  • Participating in professional growth and professional learning opportunities
  • Exhibiting a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and has the interpersonal skills to collaborate and engage well with a broad spectrum of ages cultures and languages including interactions with the general public

Public Speaking Duties
  • Leading educational programs for up to 30 people of various age groups (youth adults and seniors)
  • Attending outreach events to promote upcoming programs and educating the public about the mission of Building Brains Anywhere

Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job requires postemployment fingerprinting.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidate must be 16 years of age
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Valid drivers license
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications within 90 days of employment

Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • Associate degree in science history environmental education childcare or related field
  • Experience working in a professional childcare setting elementary/middle/secondary school education setting after school setting summer camp or equivalent combination
  • College level coursework or certification in early childhood education/elementary/secondary education or similar field

These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett they include the Sheriff Tax Commissioner District Attorney Solicitor Probate Court Judge and Chief Magistrate.
