Lead the Health & Safety procedures on a world class wind farm!

You are a proactive and detailoriented HSE professional with a deep understanding of occupational health and safety laws risk assessments and environmental compliance around the Operations and Maintenance on large renewable energy projects (preferred). Your excellent communication skills allow you to liaise effectively with contractors stakeholders and regulatory bodies ensuring a culture of safety onsite. You are strict yet fair in enforcing HSE policies and thrive in a structured environment where compliance is key.
What youll be doing (and why youll enjoy it)
In this role youll be responsible for overseeing all HSE matters at a major renewable energy project site. Youll coordinate health safety and environmental functions for the operations team ensuring full compliance with regulations and best practices. Your role will include conducting site inspections leading incident investigations monitoring contractor safety performance and ensuring all risk assessments and safety measures are in place. Additionally you will be the key point of contact for emergency services liaising with stakeholders and ensuring the enforcement of site safety discipline.

You will join a globally recognised renewable energy leader that develops finances and operates largescale energy projects in wind solar and BESS. With an impressive portfolio of over 3GW in South Africa this organisation is at the forefront of the green energy transition.
Youll be permanently based on a highprofile wind farm in Uitenhage contributing to the countrys clean energy goals while being part of an innovative and safetydriven team.
What youll need
To be successful in this role you must have at least 3 years of experience as an HSE Supervisor (will consider Officer if shown leadership ability on site) in renewable energy projects (preferred) or intricate high risk manufacturing industries like automotive.
Critical certifications are HIRA and Legal Liability alongside other desirable qualifications like Working at Height (GWO) First Aid Level 3 Fire Fighting and Snake Handling.
Highly advantageous will be a complete understanding of O&M phase of renewables projects including PTW and LOTO Systems.
Strong knowledge of the OHS Act labour laws and the permitting process is essential. Additionally you must be a skilled communicator fluent in English and confident in liaising with various stakeholders. A valid drivers licence is required as this role is sitebased.
Important Note: You will need to have proven the ability to take charge and lead in solving problems around HSE procedures and be highly methodical in your understanding of utility/heavy industry processes.
