The Role: Quality Assurance Coordinator

Orora Visual Dallas is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator to support the Quality Assurance
Specialist with administering the companys quality management system to ensure quality standards
are met.

  • This position will report to the: Quality Assurance Specialist
  • FLSA Status: Nonexempt

What Youll be Responsible For in this Role

A Quality Assurance Coordinator in the printing industry is directly working with the Quality Assurance
Specialist to be responsible for meticulously examining printed materials at various stages of
production to ensure the product meets established quality standards including color accuracy
registration ink consistency and overall appearance by identifying and reporting any defects or
inconsistencies to maintain a high level of print quality throughout the production process.

Key responsibilities of a printing Quality Assurance Coordinator:

  • Visual inspection: Examining printed materials for visible flaws like misaligned text incorrect colors smudges streaks orblemishes.
  • Color measurement: Using spectrophotometers to precisely measure and compare colors against specified color standards.
  • Registration checks: Verifying that different color inks are precisely aligned on the printed page.
  • Ink consistency checks: Monitoring the quality and consistency of ink throughout the printing run.
  • Paper quality checks: Inspecting paper stock for defects like wrinkles tears or improper sizing.
  • Dimensional checks: Measuring printed materials to ensure they meet specified size and trim requirements.
  • Maintaining records: Documenting inspection results identifying issues and reporting findings to production staff andsupervisors.
  • Identifying root causes: Analyzing defects to pinpoint potential problems within the printing process and recommendingcorrective actions.
  • Familiarity with quality systems management practices and methodologies.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools including calipers micrometers and CMMs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical documents and specifications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being selfmotivated.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials inprocess components and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Communication on Out of Spec product to the Quality Assurance Specialist will assist with informing and documentation to supervisors and managers where training of operations coworkers is needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 35 years of Quality experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).
  • Proven experience in quality control or assurance within a manufacturing environment is
    preferred.

  • Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities
  • Possess a customer first attitude; demonstrate passionate commitment for the customer andproduct quality
  • Attention to detail: A high level of focus is crucial to identify even minor inconsistencies.
  • Problemsolving abilities: Identifying the root cause of issues and proposing solutions toprevent future errors
