As the Modern Data Platform Lead you will be responsible for overseeing the design implementation and management of customer data platforms. You will lead a team of data engineers ensuring that customer data infrastructure is robust scalable and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Lead mentor and develop a team of data engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and highperformance team culture.
- Manage team workload ensuring timely and quality delivery of projects.
- Platform Development and Management:
- Oversee the design and implementation of the modern data platform including data lakes data warehouses and ETL processes.
- Ensure the platform is scalable secure and optimized for performance.
- Continuously evaluate and integrate new data technologies and tools.
- Data Management:
- Help respond to customer tenders and grow the business.
- Define and implement data governance policies and best practices.
- Ensure data quality integrity and security across the data platform.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align the data platform with business objectives.
- Project Management:
- Develop and manage project plans including timelines milestones and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress and performance addressing any issues that arise.
- Report on project status to senior management and stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with business units data scientists and analysts to understand data needs and requirements.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for the data platform.
- Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders on data platform capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- years of experience in data engineering data architecture or a related role.
- Proven experience in leading data teams and managing data platform projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Databricks Synapse Data Lakehouse Snowflake Redshift big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop Spark).
- Experience with data integration tools and technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) and their data services.
- Expertise in SQL and other query languages.
- Proficiency in database management systems (e.g. MySQL SQL Server Oracle) and data modelling.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
