Job Description

Position Title: Sr. Buyer Packaging

Position Type: Regular FullTime

The Senior Buyer is responsible for commodity analysis to support McCain North American Direct Materials (Packaging) team. This includes but is not limited to market and industry dynamics supplier research and evaluations supply chain risk packaging spend and price variances as well as work with the data master leader for packaging setup and maintenance in system. In addition the role will also lead and facilitate the strategic sourcing of $80 million in NA packaging spend. The scope of this position includes category strategy development ongoing category management contract negotiations and supplier relationship development and management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive cost focused strategy for packaging spend area (poly film and aluminum)
  • Bring leadership on packaging and market knowledge influencing business needs and commercial results to the company
  • Lead the sourcing strategy to deliver cost savings targets
  • Delivery of Sustainable Cost Advantage (SCA) Program
  • Build and manage multiple supplier relationship for the relative markets to deliver value to company
  • Ensure company purchases in the spend pool comply with company internal controls requirements
  • Lead the overall supplier relationship strategy for spend area ensuring proper commercial treatment of suppliers by reinforcing policy ethics and our strategic approach with suppliers and with other company departments
  • Responsible for category financial planning budget and PPV management
  • Build up strong and effective relationship with McCain cross function team to deliver initiatives and savings
  • Engage and collaborate cross functions and other team members to deliver best practices and accelerated results

Qualifications:

  • Must have Bachelors Degree preferably in Business or Finance
  • 2 years relevant purchasing experience
  • Prior experience in manufacturing; Food & Beverage a plus
  • Preferred: Former experience in packaging category (resin) markets in USA / Canada
  • Nice to have: experience in SAP

Compensation Package:$65500.00$87400.00 USD annually bonuseligibility

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience skill set education/training and other organizational needs.
