Job Description
A postdoctoral position in medical device development and translation isavailable at the Massachusetts General Hospital in the Wellman Center forPhotomedicine. This position will be appointed through Harvard MedicalSchool at the rank of postdoctoral fellow.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Indicate key areas of responsibility major job duties special projects and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation. This position will involve the design implementation and validation of novel wound healing technologies.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas is required: control systems mechanical design electromechanical system fabrication rapid prototyping miniature sensors development electronic circuit design CAD design and programming in LabView Matlab. Creativity is highly desirable.
EDUCATION: PhD in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Biomedical Engineering or related field is required.
EXPERIENCE: Candidates with strong background and handson experience in mechanical design systems automation and control are highly encouraged to apply.Experience in finite element modeling is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS:Research laboratory located at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.
