Position Summary

TheOperations Coordinator supervises and directs the daytoday operations of the facilities. The position provides leadership and direction to parttime staff and third party staff about building policy and procedures. Assists Director of Operations in event planning coordinating logistics and of event changeovers.

This role pays an hourly rate of $24.00.

About the Venue

NOW Arena is an 11800seat multipurpose family entertainment cultural and sports center. Seating capacity for the arena ranges fromfor theater shows; 9400 for football hockey lacrosse and soccer games; 10000 for basketball games and 11800 for concerts. Since 2016 the arena has been home to the Windy City Bulls the Chicago Bulls affiliate in the NBA.

Responsibilities

  • Helps oversee the operation of all event changeovers i.e. basketball floor stage risers chairs and provide team support.
  • Performs routine to moderate tasks maintaining chairs staging risers and other inventory as needed.
  • Maintains and oversees departmental equipment; notify Director of Operations as additional equipment is needed or services are required.
  • Assign work activities monitor work flow identify and resolve common operational issues.
  • Maintain an accurate record keeping system for hazardous materials communication program.
  • Performs operation of machinery included fork lifts aerial lifts and pickup trucks.
  • Review and coordinate changeover work plan facility maintenance and operations.
  • Deliver timely and accurate information to operations staff for proper setup and breakdown of facility.

Qualifications

  • Possess superior interpersonal and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to function in a fastpaced highpressure environment handle multiple tasks at one time meet deadlines.
  • Work a flexible schedule including early mornings days evenings overnight weekends holidays extended (long) work days and extended number of days.
  • Must be selfmotivated with strong leadership abilities and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of operational equipment including but not limited to: forklift pallet jacks staging retractable seating risers basketball floors.
  • Ability to follow written instruction interpret AutoCAD drawings.
  • Candidates must be able to follow orders explicitly be capable of working as part of a team and be able to work well with other individuals.
  • Candidates should be able to work alone if required and be able to complete tasks up to and including final clean up and putting tools and supplies back to their assigned storage areas.
