Your Opportunity
One Permanent Full Time Position.
We are currently seeking an innovative and resultsoriented individual to join our Trading Reporting team!
The Trading Reporting group manages our financial results for the Trading & Origination activities of the company. We are responsible for all aspects of Trading & Origination from settlements to complex accounting transactions and monthly quarterly and annual reporting of trading results. We also assist in budget & forecast cycles across the organization and consolidate forwardlooking financial information for the consideration of our executive and board.
Reporting to the Senior Specialist Derivatives & Hedge Accounting as the Specialist Trading Reporting you will work with internal stakeholders to provide insights into the financial and operational trends for our commodity trading desks. You will have proficient financial knowledge in all our trading activities which include power gas & environmental products trading as well as the optimization of our power generation assets. You will also assist the Senior Specialist with the presentation of consolidated financial results and external disclosures.
This is an exciting role involving a combination of financial analysis reporting of results forecasting and an array of adhoc analyses all of which drive results for some of our largest business areas.
You will contribute to our team by:
Analyzing and reporting on monthly quarterly and annual results variances for our trading activities with a focus on key drivers and trends.
Assisting in calculating and recording accurate accounting accruals and month end entries for Interest Rate FX and Commodity trading activities
Collaborating with the Settlements team to ensure alignment for accurate reporting of results
Preparing quarterly and annual disclosures in our external financial statements that relate to our trading activities.
Assisting in the development of the longterm plan annual budget and quarterly forecast processes for our trading activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Managing the process timelines expectations and flow of information between the Reporting team our trading teams and other finance groups.
Building & maintaining strong collaborative relationships with various internal stakeholders to understand interpret and develop business analysis.
Recommending and implementing improvements to processes reporting etc. to drive efficiencies.
Ensuring process documentation is up to date and accurate
Adhering to internal CSOX control requirements and ensure internal controls are operating effectively
Participating in ad hoc analysis projects as .
What you will bring to the role:
Education:
Postsecondary degree in finance accounting or a related field.
Professional accounting designation.
Experience:
5 years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience.
Working knowledge of the power generation business and commodities trading.
Technical Skills:
Strong problemsolving and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) including the ability to work effectively with nonfinancial individuals.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to foster positive internal stakeholder relationships.
Experience with any of the following would be considered a strong asset:
Oracle or another enterprisegrade ERP including Oracle Hyperion
Commodity trading systems
Microsoft Power BI
Working Conditions:
Hybrid office/workfromhome position.
Additional Details
Hours of Work: 8 hours per day 40 hours per week.
Union: CSU52 (T2
Hourly Range: $47.22 to $56.32
This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
Clearance of Credit check is required for this position.
