City Year Columbia is seeking a Senior Impact Manager (SIM) who will lead and develop two teams of AmeriCorps members (ACMs) as idealistic emerging leaders and practitioners focused on strengthening schools and supporting students to improve performance. Reporting to an Impact Director and working from a partner school(s) the SIM plays a critical role in implementing City Years schoolbased Whole School Whole Child (WSWC) service model mission and practices. The SIM is also an effective talent developer who will support AmeriCorps members through a challenging and rewarding year of service.Job Description
Responsibilities
Service Delivery and Impact
Implement City Years WSWC service model with a high degree of quality to the right students at the right time at the assigned schoolhouses
Develop and manage partnerships with school administration and personnel to ensure the necessary conditions and resources are in place for AmeriCorps members to deliver attendance interventions course performance interventions and social emotional learning support for students
Set and monitor clear measurable weekly and monthly deliverables and action plans for AmeriCorps members to accomplish WSWC goals established by the organization and school partners through the Statement of Partnership process
Drive results by ensuring timely and accurate collection of quantitative and qualitative data. Use surveys student school and district level data to continually improve student interventions and whole school supports
Regularly observe and coach AmeriCorps members in the development and implementation of datainformed tiered interventions that improve student achievement
Learning and Development Impact Coaching and Data Analytics Support
Support ongoing development of AmeriCorps members through a variety of learnercentered activities and trainings
Partner with Learning and Development delivery team to ensure successful Learning and Development experiences
Ability to coach corps members throughout all aspects of their work with students across implementing Whole School Whole Child best practices.
Conduct corps member observation and provide real time coaching and feedback
Assist Impact Team by helping diagnose service implementation issues by observing service and reviewing data.
Understand student and school data and how to utilize data to improve student and site outcomes.
Collaborate with site Leadership and Impact teams to support organizational best practices pertaining to data collection utilization and application
Serve as backup or temporary site representative as needed on cohort calls meetings and trainings as needed.
AmeriCorps Member Program Delivery and Experience
Lead manage and coach a team of AmeriCorps members to achieve service performance standards requirements while developing their leadership potential
Model leadership that is animated by City Years culture and values creating spaces that empower AmeriCorps members to access the power of the culture and values in personally meaningful ways
Utilize performance management tools to set expectations identify strengths and areas for development and to find ways to maximize leadership potential
Service Partner Management
In collaboration with Impact Director build and cultivate strong partnerships with teachers principals school officials and other key stakeholders demonstrating an understanding of the schools priorities and working collaboratively to implement solutions that leverage AmeriCorps member talent and align with City Year Whole School Whole Child output outcome and impact goals
Use student data strategically to gain support for City Year interventions and initiatives
Organizational Initiatives & Site Support
Engage in structured discussions and trainings oncreating a welcoming environment for all as a site
Lead on selected network initiatives such as creating baseline trainings collateral and tools or serving as a leader for special initiatives for site
Partner with City Year Columbia departments and staff to ensure that sitewide goals are met including but not limited to the AmeriCorps member applicant interview process stakeholder engagement event and service day participation and crossdepartmental committees and school visits for potential donors

Additional Qualifications
Bachelors degree or extensive City Year experience
Competency and desire tas a leader for all who do this work
Candidates with a background in education preferred
Proven record of setting high expectations and holding self and team accountable for performance goals
Aptitude for developing talent from all backgrounds through performance plans reviews and leadership opportunities
Commitment to and experience with community service national service and/or the development of young people as leaders
Efficient time management skills: ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects
Ability to adapt and excel in youthful high energy entrepreneurial and rapidlychanging environment
Passion for education and youth development
Attitude essentials: growth mindset passion for City Years mission committed to teamwork grit and resilience
