POSITION: Senior Manager of Mental Health
GRADE LEVEL: Middle & High School Support
LOCATION: DSST: Home Office located in Denver CO
SALARY: $83800 $100600 based on aligned years of experience up to 10 years. We also offer a relocation stipend for anyone joining us from 75 miles or more from Denver!
STATUS: Full time year round benefits eligible exempt inperson position
START: First day for this role will be July 1 2025.
THE ROLE
DSST Public Schools seeks an experienced School Social Worker to lead on social emotional programming across the network as the Senior Manager of Mental Health. DSST aims to develop students who are not only collegeready academically but who have a deep understanding of their own identity and the social and emotional skills required to be a valuesdriven member of society. The Senior Manager of Mental Health will play a key role in ensuring the network has the vision for mental health programming and whole child development necessary to make DSSTs mission a reality. Strong candidates will have a trackrecord of developing and implementing strong systems to support the wellbeing of students expertise in best practices for social emotional learning and an ability to influence and lead adults.
We are seeking a social worker with experience in the following topics:
Whole Child Development including Comprehensive Health Social Emotional Learning and Purpose/Identity for all students
Crisis response
Systems and structures to run a triaged mental health program
IEP (including BIPs) and 504 evaluations reports program design and progress monitoring
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and lead the Home Office Mental Health team to develop and support school staff in living out the DSST vision for tiered whole child development and social emotional wellness for all students
Support and develop DSSTs mental health providers to ensure they are prepared for key responsibilities of their roles including but not limited to supporting Special Education Individual Education Programs (IEPs) and evaluations programming for students with intensive social or emotional needs partnership with school culture leadership and planning for Tier 1 supports Suicide Risk Reviews and Threat Assessments and other crisis planning support etc.
Support and develop supervisors of mental health providers to ensure they are prepared to provide strong jobembedded support coaching and development for every DSST mental health provider
Refine systems and tools related to schoolbased mental health roles including but not limited to:
Roles and responsibilities School Social Workers and School Psychologists
Onboarding plans
Resources for observation and coaching of mental health providers
Evaluation systems and tools
Strengthen the vision for DSSTs mental health team including
Onboarding and mentorship
Tiered approach to supporting tier 1 2 and 3 students
Practices aligned with the Networks Strategic Priorities including Whole Child Development
Consult on challenging evaluations IEPs and 504 plans related to mental health
Qualifications:
Minimum:
Masters Degree in Social Work
Special Service Provider Licenses from the CDE
3 years of experience as a School Social Worker
Ideal:
Experience in the classroom as a teacher preferred
Experience managing and leading a team

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
