The Humanities Department in Regent Universitys College of Arts & Sciences is seeking a qualified candidate to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor of English. This is a tenure track position. The teaching focus will be on creative writing and composition courses. This position will be located at Regent Universitys Virginia Beach VA campus and will start in July of 2025.

Qualifications: Candidates should have a PhD in English with a writing emphasis or qualifying experience as a writing teacher and/or an MFA in creative writing. The successful candidate will teach Introduction to Creative Writing Poetry Writing Fiction Writing the Art of the Essay and Creative Nonfiction. In addition the successful candidate will teach freshman composition. There will be opportunities to teach literature courses as well. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a combination of online and oncampus courses and to develop review and update curriculum.
Expectations include 1 a dedication to Christcentered teaching and learning; 2 a record of or potential for academic scholarship; 3 the ability to teach undergraduatelevel courses; 4 facility with online instructional technology; and 5 a willingness to embrace the College and University Identity and Mission statements and subscribe to a statement of Christian faith.
