The Arena Groups Lifestyle Vertical is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Freelance Pets Editor to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in growing our pets content across ParadePets PetHelpful and PawNation. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate pet lover with a strategic mindset for digital content pageview growth. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned editor with a proven track record of assigning highquality SEOoptimized and referraldriven articles that engage readers and drive traffic. As Pets Editor you will be responsible for managing the content pipeline collaborating with writers and contributing to the overall growth strategy of our pet brands.
The Arena Groups expected hourly pay range for this position is currently $30 $35. We are seeking candidates that are available for forty hours per week. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including education experience and other factors permitted by law.
What Youll Do:
Content Assignment & Management:Assign and manage a high volume of petrelated articles both short and long lead to freelance writers ensuring they meet quality standards deadlines and SEO requirements.
SEO & Referrals Focus:Ensure all assigned content is optimized for search engines and designed to attract traffic from key referrers such as Yahoo MSN and Google Discover.
Headline Optimization:Craft compelling and clickworthy headlines that maximize engagement and traffic.
Strategic Planning:Collaborate with the Lifestyle Director to develop and implement monthly weekly and daily content calendars aligned with overall growth goals.
Traffic Growth:Actively contribute to strategies that drive traffic growth across the pet verticals.
Writer Management:Provide clear briefs and constructive feedback and maintain strong relationships with freelance writers.
Industry Awareness:Stay up to date on the latest trends news and best practices in the pet industry and online content.
Performance Monitoring:Track and analyze content performance to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize future assignments.
What Youll Bring:
Proven experience and demonstrable authority in creating and assigning petrelated content for online publications.
A strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices for driving organic traffic.
Expertise in crafting engaging and clickworthy headlines.
Experience growing traffic via referrers like Yahoo MSN and Google Discover.
Excellent editorial judgment and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for pets and a deep understanding of the pet industry.
Comfortable working in a fastpaced deadlinedriven environment.
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
Experience with analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics).
Existing network of freelance pet writers.
Bachelors degree in journalism communications or a related field (preferred).
