SHAWCO is a studentrun volunteer society and a standalone Nonprofit Organisation (NPO). This duality allows SHAWCO Education the unique opportunity to engage in a variety of projects and programmes. The overall goal for SHAWCO Education is to help support students (high school and university) in as many ways as possible through its projects and programmes.
- Manage all Education Sector related funds and feasibility related to finance to ensure that all funds are spent within reason and are traceable.
- To oversee and execute all fundraising and fundgenerating strategies and initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee management of finances and ensure income exceeds expenses
- Provide financial advice for operations and develop monitor and adjust the operational budget as well as smaller budgets within
- Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
- Present monthly quarterly and annual financial statements to executives and the Board of SHAWCO
- Build a highly efficient finance and fundraising team and supervise all team members
- Devise and organize fundraising campaigns and events
- Build upon existing donor relationships and form new donor relationships
- Analyze the performance of fundraising initiatives for effectiveness
- Spot fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of the sectors work
- Collaborate with other organizations and groups at UCT and within the community to build partnerships and enhance fundraising activities.
Requirements
Currently studying towards a degree in the commerce faculty
Has knowledge /skills in accounting
Has experience in Fundraising or Finance (not a requirement but would serve as an advantage)
