Activities/Activity Assistant for Assisted Living FullTime Weekdays 9am to 5:30pm

The hours of the position are Monday Friday 9am to 5:30pm for a total of 37.5 hours per week.
Job Summary:
You will have the opportunity to partner with the Activity Director by creating planning and implementing activities to meet the needs of the residents while complying with all state and federal regulations.
Common Responsibilities:
- Assists in planning developing and implementing activity programming designed to enrich the lives of our residents.
- Leads small medium and large group activities as well as onetoone activity programs.
- Documents participation and completes assessments as applicable.
- Works with volunteers for the Activity Department.
- Prepares equipment supplies and space to accommodate activities and cleans up space after conclusion.
- Transports residents to and from activities off the neighborhood as needed. Includes field trips and outings.
- Ensure proper supervision during activities.
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must maintain appropriate documentation charting activity participation behaviors and degree of involvement.
- Adhere to facility Policies and Procedures.
- Work with the Director to create a home like environment in the customers room which includes pictures family photos plants (please follow dementia guide to toxic plants) afghans CD player etc.
- Ensure customer and family confidentiality regarding all care concerns and issues.
- Work tactfully with personnel residents visitors and the general public
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth personal interest and positivity.
- Ensure that activities are occurring as planned following the monthly activity calendar
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have basic computer skills
- 12 years of LongTerm Care experience preferred but not required
- Ability to push move and or lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must have patience tact a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to work with residents based on whatever cognitive level at which they are currently functioning
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
- Must have a flexible attitude and have ability to multitask
