Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field with 5 years experience in the networking field including 3 years experience with core Cisco routing and switching technologies 2900 routers 3900 routers 7200 routers Catalystand 6500 switches).
2 years hands on experience planning designing implementing and troubleshooting Ciscos wireless product line.
Cisco CCNA or equivalent experience required.Cisco CWNA or CWNP certifications desired.
Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Extensive hands on experience with Cisco Lightweight Access Points Cisco wireless controllers (such as the 5500 series) and related technologies (Cisco NCS MSE and ISE).
Experience preparing both onsite and predictive wireless coverage (heat) maps and assessments using survey applications from AirMagnet and/or Ekahau.
Experience analyzing/troubleshooting RF PHY and 802.11 protocols using applications such as Cisco Spectrum Expert and Metageek WiSpy.
Experience analyzing/troubleshooting 802.11 protocols using applications such as AirMagnet WiFi Analyzer WildPackets OmniPeek Wireshark/AirPCap. Experience implementing voice over WiFi solutions.
Experience configuring VLANs TCP/IP networks and routing protocols such as OSPF. Familiarity with network security technologies and authentication with a focus on Cisco firewalls ACS Microsoft IAS and Cisco Clean Access Server.

General Summary/Overview
This position provides both engineering and implementation services to Partners HealthCares wireless/mobility networking practice. Partners wireless networking practice based primarily on Cisco technologies is focused on planning designing implementing and managing wireless networking solutions in hospital and research environments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Corporate Manager provides highly skilled wireless networking support to inhouse IS staff user departments and thirdparty liaisons.
Works with project managers architects and application stakeholders to determine wireless requirements in new and existing buildings.
Performs predictive pre and postimplementation wireless site surveys as needed to meet application performance requirements.
Determines hardware requirements and places material orders.
Performs endtoend troubleshooting of wireless wired and security infrastructures in support of wireless client connectivity.
Evaluates and tests wireless medical devices for interoperability on Cisco wireless infrastructure.
Participates in wireless design and configuration standards with members of Network Engineering and Network Security teams.
Maintains technical certifications as required.
Occasional after hours and weekend work to perform tasks that cannot be done during business hours.
Participates in Network Engineering Site Team oncall rotation to troubleshoot network system issues.
Represents Network Engineering Site Team at Partners project meetings.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by Information Systems Management
Carries pager and cell phone 24x7.
