Job Description

General Summary Functions as a Telephone Coordinator to the practice. Provides telephone support to secretarial nurses physicians and administrative staffs. Works fairly independently but has supervision and guidance. Possesses knowledge and understanding of the Cancer Center practices and procedures. Main Responsibilities Answers and triages telephone calls to the appropriate providers and staff. Takes detailed phone messages. Alerts supervisor when there are more than 2 calls in queue. Ensures urgent / stat phone calls are routed to the appropriate staff. Updates and maintains the coverage system on the dry board. Updates and maintains phone distribution list Sorts and distributes faxes to appropriate physician and staff. Check cancer center email box and forward email to the appropriate staff Performs other duties as required Works under the Practice Manager Working knowledge of phone systems and computers are required. Must have oral and spelling skills. Excellent customer service skills required as well.
