Modeling and simulation of adsorption applications
The water and energy program of the African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (Laayoune) is seeking motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher in modeling simulation and design of adsorption processes. The position is open to individuals who hold a PhD in chemical engineering process engineering or a closely related field.The successful candidate will simulate design and optimize adsorption processes. The collected parameters will be used to develop an experimental proof of concept in the form of miniaturized units.
Location: Laayoune (ASARI) Morocco.
Duration: The position is available for one year and can be extended to a second year (CDD).
Key duties:
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Model and simulate adsorption processes and design adsorption application units
- Optimize the adsorption cycles and improve the application performances
- Contribute to the construction of pilot scale prototypes of the developed technologieswith industrial and engineering partners
- Takeresponsibilityfor delivering highquality and timely scientific results according to the planning of research projects
- Publish research work in highimpact scientific publications
- Prepare technical reports and presentations.
Criteria of the candidate:
To be considered for this role you will ideally have:
- Master/Engineering degree and a PhD in Chemical/Process Engineering Mechanical Engineering Chemistry Materials Engineering or related fields
- Excellent knowledge of chemical engineering fundamentals (fluid flow heat & mass transfer kinetics) and adsorption phenomena (PSA VSA and TSA)
- Strong background in simulation/modelling tools (such as Aspen Adsorption Aspen plus is necessary.
- Proven track record in adsorption processes
- Handson experience in design and construction of prototypes
- Experience in gas/vapor adsorption analyses is an asset
- Strong analytical problem solving and teamwork skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
