About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker you will:
- Work directly with young people in a 24/7 Residential Setting
- Follow fortnightly rotating shift rosters including afternoons evenings and sleepovers with weekend work required
- Support young people with complex behaviours and disabilities catering to their individual needs
- Create a safe and nurturing environment to promote their wellbeing and development

Life Without Barriers offers a dedicated AfterHours Service (AHS) for all Child Youth and Family programs AHS ensures efficient responses to afterhours events that cannot wait until the next business day relieving our frontline staff from oncall duties and significantly improving their worklife balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day to day care supervision and transport to children and young people
- Actively participate in activities and increase competencies of young people
- Form and maintain professional nurturing relationships
- Develop implement and monitor individual plans
- Actively support the child/young person to develop and maintain social skills
- Maintenance of progress notes and report writing
Skills & Experience
- Prior knowledge and/or experience working with young people in Residential Care programs (essential).
- Hold or actively working toward a Certificate IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention or similar (essential).
- Completed or prepared to enrol in Top Up Units in Child Youth and Family Intervention (CHCMHS007 CHCPRT009 CHCCS009 CHCPRT010 (essential).
- Healing Matters Certificate (desirable).
- A current Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain if successful) (essential).
- A current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence (essential).
- Ability to work various shifts (sleepover & active nights) throughout the week
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
