Job Description Summary

Organization Summary Statement:

The Coordinator for Residential Experiences primary role is supervising 6 Graduate Assistants (GA) and the related programming and advising functional areas each GA oversees (e.g. Academics Chapter Expectations Greek Awards DFSL Communications Assessment and Staff Training). Additionally the Coordinator works in tandem with another CRE to oversee the recruitment selection and training of all GAs as well as other duties related to the support of the Departments housing program. The Coordinator serves as a livein Resident Director in a fraternity or sorority house managing the facility and providing advising support to the residents. Responsible for overseeing the annual review of housing contracts. Evaluate the involvement and performance of the house corporation board and house director. Assists the DFSL Assistant Director for Housing in managing and staffing the Departments summer conferencing activity in the 21 Universityowned chapter houses. Coordinates duty assignments and schedules for fulltime staff and GAs. Participates in the rotating duty phone coverage for the department. Supports the Assistant Director for Human Resources and Finances with human resource services (recruitment searches onboarding/offboarding) for all Graduate Assistants. Occasionally take on other duties as assigned. This is a liveon position that requires some evening and weekend work.


Physical Demands:
Ability to walk through all areas of Universityowned chapter houses conduct inspections etc. This may involve climbing ladders or accessing crawl spaces during inspections.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: One 1 year of experience in housing residence hall or student affairs management. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four 4 years of the required education. Knowledge of best practices in resident hall management.Knowledge of database management programs.Skill in oral and written communication.Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. Ability to interpret and apply policies procedures regulations and laws.Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.
