PostDoctoral Researcher (Pathology/Solid Tumours)
- Employment Type: Full time 35 hours a week)
- Duration: Fixed Term contract until 31 December 2025 (with possibility of extension)
- Remuneration: $88k $117k base 17 super and leave loading)
- Working rights: Full Australian work rights for duration of contract will be required.
- Location: Kensington Sydney
The School of Biomedical Sciences

It plays a key role in arming future doctors health practitioners biomedical scientists and a broader community of health professionals each of whom will bring a specialised and diverse skill sets to the frontiers of medical and health.
Why this role matters
This position will be responsible for the conduct of experiments and analysis of data related to a program developing novel therapeutic approaches for solid cancers. The incumbent will be a key contributor in this project planning and performing experiments and analysis and assisting the broader team with other researchrelated duties. The project will involve a range of molecular and cellular techniques with cells in culture and studies in animal models. This position is tenable in Prof Levon Khachigians laboratory
Some key skills required:
- A PhD in a related discipline and/or relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated expertise and practical surgical experience in rodent models of solid tumour growth and/or metastasis especially expertise delineating the involvement of the immune system.
- Hands on experience using humanised mice (CD34NSG) as models of solid tumour growth and/or metastasis would be an advantage.
- Hands on experience using rodent models of cardiovascular disease would also be an advantage.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
