Function of Work:
To serve as the special projects coordinator in developing special projects for the State Museum including exhibitions traveling exhibitions and publications.
Level of Work:
Advanced.
Supervision Received:
Broad from Museum Division Director or other higher level personnel.
Supervision Exercised:
Project basis over other museum personnel.
Location of Work:
Department of Culture Recreation and Tourism; Office of State Museum.
Job Distinctions:
Differs from Curator 3 by project development planning and organizational duties.
Differs from Museum Division Director by the absence of division management responsibilities.
NOTE:

Plans organizes and implements special exhibitions publications educational programs traveling exhibits lectures media programs museum exchanges and other special projects as assigned.
Negotiates with other regional national and international museums to loan or exchange exhibits.
Plans and arranges shipment of collection materials (logistical and security) in conjunction with the Collections division director.
Supervises and coordinates the work of special project teams.
Presents lectures and attends special events and conferences to promote museum activities.
Coordinates and implements a recruitment system to recruit volunteers for special projects.
Researches and develops pamphlets articles catalogues etc. related to the collections and exhibitions of the State Museum.
Makes guest appearances on media programs to publicize special projects.
