Nurse Practitioner orPhysician Assistant position available in busy growing Nursing Home practice based on the North Shore.
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a skilled rehabilitation/long term care setting functions in the role of clinician consultant and educator. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and a strong knowledge base regarding comprehensive care of the older adult. The Nurse Practitioneror Physician Assistantprovides and directs care to patients and residents in collaboration with the Attending Physician Medical Director and PCP. Ongoing interaction with rehabilitation and discharge planning teams is also required. While the NP or PA would be part of a large supportive team of advanced practice clinicians this role requires a high degree of independence and organizational skills.
Our growing practice of 11 NPs provides care to frail elders on skilled and long term nursing units. Our practice is expanding to include a hospital based unit which we are developing as well as assisted living sites. Applicants must be self motivated organized and experienced in working with elders.
RESPONSIBLITIES
We prefer experience in a setting serving the same age/type patient served in longterm care/subacute facilities preferred however we would consider a new grad NP especially if youve worked as an RN in acute or subacute facility. We are seeking full time but are very flexible and would consider less than full time option. There is call requirement which is rotated among the staff.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Demonstrated competency in providing comprehensive health care including evaluation diagnosis and treatment.
Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements
EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited schoolwith a Masters degree as an NP or PA
LICENCES CERTIFICATIONS and/or REGISTRATIONS
Current state license as a registered nurse practitioner or physician assistant
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three years experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistantin a setting serving the same age/type patient served in longterm care/subacute facilities.
