Key Responsibilities Administrative operational and clinical responsibilities is assumed for all services in the facility on evenings nights weekends and/or holidays. Appropriate use of resources is demonstrated. Nursing staff supervision support and mentoring are provided to promote staff development and adherence to the standards of clinical excellence. Appropriate intervention is demonstrated in all situations e.g. deterioration of patient condition disruptive behavior equipment malfunctions etc. Adequate staffing is ensured to meet coverage demands. Delegation of work to staff is consistent with their abilities professional development and needs of the unit. Patient/resident satisfaction is promoted and aligned with broader action plans. Observations related to staff performance are shared with the appropriate nurse manager. Participates in staff performance reviews as per organizational guidelines. Department compliance is monitored and maintained to meet licensing and accrediting agency standards. Practice is guided by and congruent with the American Nurses Associations Nursing Administration: Scope and Standards of Practice and the American Organization of Nurse Executives Nurse Executive Competencies. Additional department organization or network activities are completed per established objectives.
