About Farmington Hills Hospital
Recognized by U.S News and World Report as one of the nations highperforming facilities for multiple procedures and conditions and has been recognized as a Magnetdesigned hospital for nursing excellence. This hospital has grown and capabilities over the decades to become a Level II trauma center serving the community since 1965. It also serves as the base teaching hospital for Michigan State University.
About this unit
This 31bed unit is dedicated to Oncology and MedSurg overflow. This unit schedules daily short stays for chemotherapy treatment blood transfusions bone marrow biopsies and cardiac catheterization. Also specializes with surgical patients with epidurals and can accommodate telemetry patients. The nurse patient ratio is based on acuity census and activity. This unit also covers the 8bed infusion center which is also included on the third floor.
Scope of work
Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy goals policies and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in nursing (ADN) Required.
- Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) Preferred.
- 2 years of recent relevant clinical/bedside nursing experience Required.
- Participation in leadership activities (Unit hospital or system Shared Governance meetings Precepting or Charge nurse role) Preferred.
- MI RN license Required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
