Job Description
The Substitute Teacher will work under the direction of the Director and Associate Directors in substituting for an absent teacher as needed. This teacher is expected to arrive on time for work cover all duties for the absent teacher including classroom instruction lunch duty hall monitoring and any additional duties the absent teacher normally handles. This teacher should possess knowledge of concepts theories and practices related to a PreK8th grade gifted classroom. Essential Functions (Responsibilities): Work with students in the classroom using materials left by the absent teacher Implement ageappropriate activities as directed to support established curriculum Work well with team of 12 other teachers Exhibit patience and selfcontrol Attend staff training as required Work cordially with staff and parents Other duties as assigned or requested by the Classroom Teacher Director or Associate Directors

Required Qualifications
Knowledge/Skill/Ability High school diploma Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. A collaborative team player who can work effectively with employees and team members. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Strong customer service with a cando attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in gifted education or working with gifted and talented students preferred Special Job Dimensions: Work requires working with highly sensitive or confidential information.
