Job Description

Classification Title:

Admissions Officer III

Job Description:

The University of Florida is seeking an experienced and detailoriented Admissions Officer III to oversee the daytoday operations of the Transfer Admissions processing team. This key role is responsible for reviewing and evaluating undergraduate admissions applications assessing transfer credits and ensuring compliance with admissions standards.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Transfer Admissions Processing

  • Reviews and evaluates undergraduate admissions applications to ensure they meet the universitys minimum requirements and standards.
  • Assesses transfer credits and verifies the accuracy and completeness of student submissions for eligibility.
  • Collaborates with colleges to manage key processes including application deadlines available terms for student entry and referral standards.
  • Ensures decisions are made and communicated by the designated release deadlines.
  • Evaluates secondary and postsecondary transcripts to ensure compliance with admissions standards.
  • Handles escalated situations and serves as the area expert providing guidance and solutions for complex cases while maintaining highquality service standards.
  • Optimizes the efficiency of the application process.

Customer Service and Support

  • Serves as a point of contact for prospective and current students parents and university personnel including responding to inquiries and communicating with the general public via phone email and inperson disseminating accurate information to students parents and key stakeholders across campus.
  • Provides support to OneStop staff members with escalated admissionsrelated inquiries.
  • Participates in crossfunctional events advises on committees and engages in Q&A sessions.
  • Assists with the creation of reference materials in support of OneStop staff member training.

Staff Supervision and Development

  • Hires supervises trains and evaluates fulltime staff and student assistants assigned to the area.
  • Creates training materials and coordinates training for Admissions business processes across all software platforms utilized in the office.
  • Coordinates staff work schedules to ensure sufficient office coverage.

Other Duties

  • Performs other duties as assigned including assisting with special projects and supporting other areas of Admissions as needed.

This position is located at the University of Floridas main campus in Gainesville FL and may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Managements policies.

Expected Salary:

$52000 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Masters degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supervising a team; demonstrated ability to lead mentor and manage staff effectively in a highpaced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven track record of accurately reviewing and processing complex information to maintain high standards of quality and compliance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
