The potential salary range for the Therapist I (Grade 23 role upon hire is $74507 $944442.
The potential salary range for the Therapist II (Grade 24 role upon hire is $77738 $115958.

The role is open continuously until filled.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Crisis Center is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic mental health professional who enjoys working with a diverse population and a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses and cooccurring disorders. If you have inpatient/outpatient psychiatric substance abuse/use emergency room residential or group home experience our clients couldbenefitfrom your skills. If you want to improve your confidence and skill in assessing risk this is the best program in the county to help youaccomplishthat goal. What Youll Be Doing

The Therapist I and II (T1/TII) is a full performancelevel clinical counseling position. Primary responsibilities include the application of crisis intervention principles and methods in the assessment diagnosis prevention of mental health and substance abuse/use. for clients 18 and younger. This TI/TII position is considered essential and works as a multidisciplinary team member sharing direct service responsibilities with other Crisis Center staff.


  • Duties include serving in the therapeutic components of the Crisis Center consistingof walkin clinical/substance assessments Mobile Crisis Outreach Teams (MCOT andtelephone crisis work.


  • Walkin clinical assessments are conducted with a diverse population of youth with cooccurring disorders all psychiatric diagnoses and multilayered problems or situations.


  • Telephone crisis work includes assessment of risk a variety of referrals information and collaboration/coordination with agency partners and afterhours backup for other county programs.


  • MCOT duties include some communityoutreach andconducting clinical assessments outside and/or inside clients homes on the street often going up and down multiple steps or uneven terrain in inclement weather or poor conditions. MCOT presence isto provide onscene support at critical incidents and county wide emergencies or disasters.

Minimum Qualifications

Therapist I Level:

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with aMasters Degree in clinicalor counselling psychology social work marriage and family therapy nursing or a related Behavioral science field.

Experience: None

Equivalency: None

License Requirement:One of the following licenses issued by the State of Maryland must be held prior to appointment andmaintainedby the employee:

Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW).

Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC); or

Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist (LGMFT).

Possession and maintenance at all times of a: Valid Class C (or equivalent) drivers license from the applicants state of residence whenfor jobrelated duties.


Therapist II Level:

Education:Graduation from an accredited college or university with aMasters Degree in clinicalor counseling psychology social work marriage and family therapy nursing or a related behavioral science field.

Experience: Two 2 years of professional experiencerenderingtherapeutic counseling social worknursingor psychology services as pertinent to ones professional licensing.

Equivalency:None.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:

One of the following licenses issued by the State of Maryland must be held prior to appointment of andmaintainedby the employee:

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC;

Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapy (LCMFT;

Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC;

Licensed Certified Social Worker/Clinical (LCSWC;

Licensed Registered Nurse in the United States certified as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland; or

Licensed Psychologist

Note: There will be no substitutions for this requirement.

Possession and maintenance of:

A valid Class C (or equivalent) drivers license from the applicants state of residence whenfor jobrelated duties.

  • Do you have professional experience in a crisiscenter substance abuse/use emergency room and/or other 24/7 setting providing urgentBehavioralhealth services.

  • Do you have experience working in a residential treatment setting or on an inpatient hospital psychiatric setting.

  • Do you have experience providing crisis intervention services during communitywide emergencies such as natural disasters serious accidents and/or other emergency situations that might include fatalities.

  • Do you haveExperience providing mobile outreach response to psychiatric emergencies and/or onscene support involving unexpected deaths



We will useinterview preferencecriteria:


  • Some clinical experience as a mental health practitioner treating individuals with cooccurring disorders persistent mental illnesses substance abuse/use and/or victimization and trauma.
