Job Description

General Summary:
Responsible forpainting and rigging work throughout the hospital to maintain the interiors andexteriors of all buildings structures equipment and grounds as specified byindustry and hospital standards.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstratesthe ability to perform painting of:
- Patientrooms corridors and other areas
- Minorplaster and patchwork
- Installwallpaper and murals
- Performspay painting using both airless and conventional guns
- Performstripping and refinishing of furniture
- Using upto 50 ladders and special rigging equipment on highrise ascending roofs to paintdormers and skylights where slate roofs are present
- Performcutting of all types and thickness of glass and glazing procedures forreplacing glass
- Fabricateand install signs labels nameplates throughout the hospital property
- Fabricateinstall and repair shades.
- Performsall assigned painting work correctly and with minimal direction
- Assuresarea of painting is properly prepared by cleaning surface and patching unevenspots according to department standards
- Prepareswalls to be painted on new construction work i.e. taping seams and applyingjoint compound to all seams edges etc
- Assuresall areas around painting site are protected according to departmentguidelines as demonstrated by no damage being reported after painting has beencomplete.

The hours for this position are Monday Friday 7:30 to 4:00
Education: High School or trade school graduate
Experience: 3year apprenticeship or equivalent on the job training AND 2 years experience preferred.
Skills: Knowledge of state and local building codesblueprint reading and use of tools and materials. Ability to estimate time and materials neededto complete a job.
All employees must possess basic computer skills touse a variety of electronic or online systems for communication clinical andadministrative purposes.
