Responsibilities

Position Summary:

As a Postdoctoral Research Scientist you will contribute to the investigation of the structure and dynamics of diseaserelated proteins using singleparticle cryoEM Xray diffraction and molecular simulations. You will also participate in structureassisted drug design in collaboration with computational scientists. This role offers the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing timeresolved structural biology techniques to understand and manipulate the structure function and dynamics of drug targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ structural biology techniques to study and understand the structure function and dynamics of diseaserelated proteins and proteinligand complexes.
  • Contribute to structureassisted drug design.
  • Perform molecular dynamics simulations and QM/MM calculations.
  • Publish research findings in peerreviewed journals and present results at national and international conferences.
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Contribute to grant proposals and progress reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in structural biology biochemistry biophysics or related fields such as chemistry physical chemistry or biological structure research completed within the last three years.
  • Proficiency in protein expression and purification in eukaryotic and prokaryotic systems.
  • Experience in singleparticle cryoEM or crystallization (or both) including structure determination and analysis of proteinligand complexes.
  • Ability to interact effectively with research staff at all levels and work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge in structurebased drug design.
  • Proficiency in Python programming and its applications in structural biology.
  • Experience with other biophysical characterization methods.
  • A record of productive and creative research demonstrated by publications in peerreviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform experiments while seated or standing for extended periods.
  • Dexterity to manipulate small laboratory tools and reagents.
  • Occasionally involves light physical effort such as moving laboratory equipment or handling reagents.
