Job Description

The Clinical Research Ops Manager manages a team of Clinical Research Nurses and Clinical Research Coordinators within the Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorder Institute (CBDI). The Clinical Research Ops Manager is responsible for the daytoday research operations staffing human resources and budgetary needs of the assigned unit.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Manage the daytoday operations and staffing of unit to streamline study conduct and maximize efficiencies while ensuring human subjects protections and protocol compliance.
  2. Manage human resources of unit staff including staffing onboarding performance evaluations corrective actions performance improvement plans and career development.
  3. Responsible for assessing the feasibility and operational needs of new studies and collaborates with the Study Start Up Manager with the startup process within the unit. Makes adjustments and adapts when study needs or priorities change during study conduct.
  4. Collaborates with the Department of Research & Grants Administration with the development of study budgets as they relate to Research Operations effort to ensure appropriate budgeting.
  5. Responsible for the review of actual effort against budgeted and report to the Director of Research Operations to ensure studies remain within approved budget.
  6. Accountable for oversight of compliancebased reporting and data reporting. Accountable for tracking and reporting metrics to the Director of Research Operations Director of Cancer and Blood Disorders Institute COG PI and Associate Dean Administration on milestones and activities within the unit.
  7. Serves as a key liaison to and collaborates with the JHACH leader for Clinical Research Compliance to facilitate monitor and help assure compliance with research policies guidelines regulations and best practices by CRCs CRNs and who support studies conducted by CBDI investigators.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree with 5 years of prior clinical research experience required within the 5 years 2 years of clinical research experience either as a Clinical Research Coordinator Clinical Research Nurse or providing nursing care to pediatric oncology research participants. OR Bachelors in nursing degree with 5 years of prior nursing experience AND current FL RN licensure required
  • Two years of Childrens Oncology Group (COG) experience preferred.
  • Two years of supervisory or management experience required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines HIPAA FDA regulations and other federally mandated guidelines.
  • Must have computer expertise in using Microsoft Office including Word Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to follow protocols and directions very closely with the ability to grasp the rationale for the methods used and careful attention to details of the protocols are essential for success.
  • Expertise of medical terminology and human subject research is required.
  • Ability to read write speak and understand English.

Salary Range: Minimum40.18per hour Maximum64.28per hour.Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
