Smithers is Europes leading independent plastics and rubber specialist organisation providing technology and information services for polymerrelated industries.
A new opportunity has arisen within our Manufacturing Processing Department in Shawbury for a Processing Technician who wants to work within a successful global business.
You will be working in a specialist dedicated team supporting the continuous work flow of the department. As a crucial member of the department you will be manufacturing and preparing a range of medical polyurethane components by a Reaction Injection Moulding process ready for dispatch.
You will be responsible for
- Scheduling planning moulding trimming and despatching polyurethane components to customers.
- Maintaining quality standards and processing standards
- Recording of process data as required.
- Machine maintenance (in conjunction with others) materials inventory and high level of housekeeping.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment
- Proactive and have a handson approach with the proven ability to plan and operate in a manufacturing environment
- Experience of manufacturing lean processes/ 5s
- Accurate with strong attention to detail
- Experience of working to quality standards
