As part of a hardworking team of diverse experts you will help in the testing of Engines for various Vehicle configurations. You will share in the teams impact on all aspects of aerospace manufacturing while working with the team to keep the shop functioning at a high level. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight.
Being at the heart of Blue Origin operations the west Texas site in Van Horn TX offers eligible employees additional attractive financial incentives to supplement their competitive base earnings including a living allowance and relocation assistance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Execute the fabrication installation and thorough checkout of Test Facility wire harnesses.
Oversee the integration and checkout of test articles.
Conduct detailed inspections of facility instrumentation systems.
Review edit and meticulously follow test procedures and processes.
Operate test facility and ground support equipment efficiently.
Perform general troubleshooting of Facility Instrumentation systems.
Collaborate with engineers on design concepts improvements and development tests.
Conduct scheduled inspections on Facility assets to ensure optimal condition.
Engage and work closely with Test/Design Engineers on a daily basis.
Travel to test sites to support missions expected at least 15 of the year.
Safely work with hazardous chemicals cryogenics and highpressure systems.
Demonstrate ability to work effectively both as a team member and as an individual contributor.
Perform tasks individually assigned by leadership for the betterment of the Engine Test Stand Facilities team.
Foster a balanced and motivated team environment.
Conduct operations at elevated heights with appropriate safety measures.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to adhere to any rotation schedule as required by organizational leaders.
Some experience in mechanical fields such as automotive aviation or farm equipment.
3 years of experience in an electrical trade.
Ability to closely follow and understand electrical and fluid diagrams.
Experience with Data Acquisition systems instrumentation and general electronics.
High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
Experience using calibrated tools such as Torque Wrenches and multimeters.
Experience with fluid fittings including AN MS and compression fittings.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Capability to work in adverse weather conditions.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in propulsion facility systems.
Experience with vehicle launch systems.
Proven understanding of aerospace propulsion systems.
Experience working with cryogenics including Liquid Oxygen Hydrogen and Liquid Natural Gas.
Ability to swiftly adapt to changing roles and responsibilities in a fastpaced and challenging work environment.
Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
Experience operating aerial lifts scissor lifts and other vehicles used for atheight maintenance.
