You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailResponsible for the selection orientation and training of patient food service staff. Responsible for training program development implementation and revisions including onthejob training as well as training deemed necessary by unit. Responsible for managing the daytoday operations of Patient Food Service including coverage supervision food safety and sanitation and patient service.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interview hires orients trains disciplines and terminates personnel. Recommends staff for promotions transfers.
Provides training and coaches new hires in the Patient Food Service Department. Trains employees from all patient food service areas including the galleys the data center and the tray line area. Assesses staffs ability to meet performance standards at end of first 90 days of employment.
Orients existing NSCs to specialty units. Orients existing employees to alternate positions. Trains part time staff and full time staff.
Conducts annual training in accordance with JCAHO regulations including fire safety HIPPA Infection Control and any other training as deemed necessary.
Establishes practice for employee recognition
Monitors quality assurance program work performance standards sanitation procedures and personnel hygiene/food handling requirements consistent with JCAHO OSHA institution local state and federal regulations.
Coaches staff to maintain Excellence Every Day standard. Audits compliance.
Assists with the development of standards governing patient menu and service quality.
Observes the appearance and personal habits of staff to detect deviations and/or violations of current health regulations and takes corrective action.
Monitors all activities related to food service inpatient care areas.
Provides instruction guidance and leadership to Dietetic Interns during the Patient Food Service rotation. Plans work/training schedule and evaluates their performance and projects.
Oversees patient service operation as necessary. Ensures appropriate staffing food safety and quality patient service and sanitation.
Attends meetings and participates on various committees
Participates in staffing schedules.
Maintains operational and policy manuals.
Maintains strong and effective working relationship with coworkers.
Maintain strong rapport with staff on the units
Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Ability to provide compassionate care to patients and training to staff
Attention to detail
Must be able to lift 2530 lbs. and must be able to stand for extended period (most of shift).
Computer skills
Age specific competencies pediatric to geriatric
RD preferred LDN preferred
ServeSafe Certified
Bachelors Degree required
Previous training or mentoring experience preferred
Food service experience desirable
