Job Summary: Facilitate student learning and help students better understand concepts or applications of course content. Attend each class and provide small group sessions covering the course content. Responsible for facilitating a minimum of two hours of peerassisted SI study sessions per week. Support students in gaining effective study skills and maximizing potential for academic success. Maintain weekly contact with faculty and the Director of Learning Resources. An SI Leader is required to be an Ivy Tech student in good standing or a recent Ivy Tech graduate. This is a temporary coursespecific position.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in SI Leader trainings and meetings.
- Attend all class sessions and serve as a role model for successful student behavior.
- Facilitate a minimum of two hours of peerassisted SI study sessions per week throughout the semester and provide additional SI sessions as necessary.
- Communicate weekly with faculty member(s) and the Director of Learning Resources.
- Report immediately to the Director of Learning Resources when critical issues arise.
- Be familiar with campus resources available to students.
- Plan SI sessions using a wide variety of interactive learning strategies (without reteaching lecturing or completing students assignments for them).
- Utilize tutoring tracking software and provide additional semester data collection reports (student surveys planning sheets etc..

Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Ivy Tech student in good standing or a recent Ivy Tech graduate.
- Successful completion of the course applying for.
- Evidence of competency in the subject matter determined by course grade and faculty references.
- Ability to promote independent learning and maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Excellent human relations interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including some Saturdays.
