Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Design & Engineering: Develop mechanical and fire protection system designs including sprinklers hydrants fire pumps smoke control and suppression systems.
- Code Compliance: Ensure designs meet local national and international fire safety codes (e.g. NFPA IBC ASHRAE).
- Risk Assessment: Conduct fire risk evaluations hazard analysis and safety inspections.
- Project Management: Collaborate with architects MEP engineers and construction teams to integrate fire safety solutions effectively.
- Testing & Commissioning: Oversee system testing commissioning and performance evaluations.
- Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest fire safety technologies and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Fire Protection Engineering or a related field.
- A Masters degree is a plus but not required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fire protection engineering mechanical design or a related role.
- Experience with fire suppression smoke control and mechanical fire protection systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Revit and hydraulic calculation software (e.g. HASS FHC or similar).
- Strong understanding of fire safety codes and standards (NFPA IBC ASHRAE BS FM Global).
- Knowledge of fire suppression systems including sprinklers hydrants fire pumps gaseous suppression and smoke control systems.
- Strong problemsolving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
