Position Type: Full Time or Part TimeSend cover letter and resume to Katie International Charter School seeks to hire an energetic caring bilingual Speech and Language Pathologist to work as a member of the special education team providing direct and consultative services for children with communication and other disabilities. The Speech Language Pathologist collaborates with teachers special educators other school personnel and parents to develop and implement individual or group programs and support classroom activities. Services are provided within the general education classroom on a pull out basis and/or within the context of a specialized program.Successful candidate must have demonstrated success with and be knowledgeable about a variety of interventions; have training and experience with the administration and interpretation of a wide range of assessments and evaluation tools. Specific responsibilities of the Speech and Language Pathologist: Provide consultation to classroom teachers on the development of language.Assist teachers and teacher assistants in developing languagebased classroom activities.Assist parents in learning ways to increase language stimulation in the home.Provide individual services to children considered speech and/or language disordered.Plan and organize 1:1 and small group speech and language therapy Assess needs in the area of speech language and hearing and prepare diagnostic reports.Serve as a member of the team that will develop an Individual Education Program for each of the pupils enrolled.Communicate with parents School Administrators teachers and other support staff for the coordination of services.Demonstrates ethical behavior and a genuine concern for others under all circumstances; models what is expected of others.Such other duties as deemed necessary by the Director of Special EducationJob RequirementsValid RI Certification as a speech & language pathologistBilingual Prefered (Spanish preferred)Prefer experience working with children;Successful school experience as a Speech Pathologist;Knowledge of technologies to enhance communication;Knowledge of researchbased practices and interventions to address communication;Proven demonstrative skills in school settings diagnostic assessments and comprehensive student evaluations.Position Type: Full Time or Part TimeSend cover letter and resume to Katie
