Job Description
The Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning provides vision and leadership for innovation and improvement in instruction across all schools in the district. This role includes designing implementing and supporting instructional practices and programs for teachers and administrators to become effective educators. The Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning supervises and evaluates districtlevel instructional staff professional development school improvement Response to Intervention dyslexia curriculum and new teacher mentoring. Experience in designing and providing professional development supervising teachers and staff extensive knowledge and experience in instructional methodology creating and managing state and federal budgets understanding of the school improvement process and the leadership skills necessary to influence systematic change is required. Qualifications include a Specialist degree or higher Arkansas DistrictLevel Superintendent certification and a minimum of 10 years in administrative/leadership roles.
