Job Description

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with sensitivity and discretion when handling personal information. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a Provide crisis intervention, safety assessments, and develop safety plans for victims of domestic abuse. Assist victims in securing medical treatment, inform them of their legal rights, and provide referrals to military and civilian resources such as shelters and child protective services. Deliver advocacy and outreach services to support victims and at-risk family members. Maintain knowledge of family violence dynamics, risk assessments, safety planning, environmental stressors, and relevant federal and state laws. Build and maintain trusting relationships with victims through empathy, sensitivity, and effective communication. Intervene in crisis situations with sound judgment, flexibility, and problem-solving skills, ensuring the principle of "do no harm." Collaborate with military and civilian personnel, including medical, social services, law enforcement, and legal teams, to assist victims. Conduct briefings for Soldiers, Commanders, and civilian personnel to increase awareness of domestic abuse and improve response efforts. Operate in accordance with established guidelines of the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) and Victim Advocacy Program (VAP). Maintain program documentation, including reports and management data. Ensure proper transportation, setup, and display for domestic abuse prevention and response activities. Recruit and train Exceptional Family Member Program (EPC) providers, maintaining utilization records and training files.

Education

Bachelor s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Community Health, or Public Health from an accredited institution. Minimum of 2 years of experience providing direct victim advocacy services for domestic abuse victims. Preferred: Victim Advocacy Certification.
