Staff Accountant
Location: North America (Remote)
The First Due team is seeking a businesssavvy organized Staff Accountant to support our Finance team. As a Staff Accountant at First Due you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. You will manage essential accounting functions support financial close processes and contribute to the success of our highgrowth company
The Role
The Staff Accountant will:

Record and manage daily accounting transactions ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies to maintain accurate financial records.

Perform reconciliations for key accounts including accounts receivable accounts payable and bank accounts to support financial accuracy and integrity.
.
Assist in monthend and yearend closing activities including general ledger review variance analysis and preparation of adjusting journal entries.
.
Collaborate with internal teams to track and analyze financial metrics ensuring proper allocation of revenue and expenses.
.
Manage customer collections processes ensuring timely and accurate payments while addressing discrepancies effectively.
.
Assist with preparing schedules and documentation for internal and external audits as well as tax filings ensuring full compliance.
.
Maintain organized updated records of contracts certifications and compliance documents to support reporting and regulatory needs.
.
Identify and propose enhancements to accounting and finance processes to improve efficiency and adaptability as the business scales.
Requirements
Skills Qualifications and Experience
.
Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field required.
.
12 years of professional experience in accounting or a related field is preferred but not required; First Due is open to entrylevel candidates with relevant internships or academic projects.
.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (NetSuite is a plus).
.
Exceptional problemsolving skills with the ability to work with large datasets and provide actionable insights.
.
Familiarity with GAAP financial compliance and tax regulations.
.
Strong organizational skills attention to detail and ability to work independently or in crossfunctional teams.
.
Comfort working in a fastpaced dynamic tech environment with a readiness to handle multiple priorities.
.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills; experience presenting financial data to stakeholders is a bonus.
