We are seeking an exceptional and engaging individual to join us as a Senior SEND Officer.
This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to showcase their skills and to join a team ensuring that children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEND) receive the support they need to thrive. This is a crucial role within our SEND Team helping to deliver high quality personcentred casework for children and young people and families.
The role of the Senior SEND Officer includes:
- To operationally manage the SEN Service Casework reporting to the SEN Team Manager QA & CPD ensuring that it is carried out in an efficient and effective manner.
- To support and challenge schools within Thurrock regarding the support for and outcomes made by children with special educational needs and disabilities
- To Chair and attend Panels as and when appropriate
- Ensure that all casework is carried out to the highest standards and fully meets the Local Authority statutory functions in terms of quality and timescales.
- To provide direct management of a team of SEN Case Officers providing monthly 121 and weekly case supervision.
- To quality check Education Health & Care Plans
- To provide advice and support and information on behalf of the Council regarding the needs of children and young people with SEND.
