Overview:
The QA Engineer will play a critical role as a member of the team ensuring quality standards are met identifying defects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing quality assurance methodologies and a passion for delivering highquality products that meet user needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans test cases and test scripts to ensure functionality and performance across our software offerings.
- Conduct manual and automated testing across various stages of the software development lifecycle identifying defects and ensuring they are resolved.
- Collaborate with developers product managers and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and ensure quality standards are met.
- Monitor and report on testing progress providing regular updates to the development team and management.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives to contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain and enhance automated testing frameworks and tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
- Conduct regression testing to ensure that new features do not adversely affect existing functionality.
- Document and track defects using issue tracking systems (e.g. JIRA) and verify that fixes are implemented correctly.
- Build relationships and work collaboratively with the Technical Marketing and Sales Support teams in a startup environment.
Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.
- 7 years in software quality assurance or testing preferably in a startup or fastpaced environment.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies tools and processes.
- Experience with automated testing tools (Cypress preferred or equivalent such as Selenium Playwright).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git) and agile development practices.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Experience with performance testing tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of security testing practices and tools to ensure the integrity of applications.
- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes and tools (e.g. Jenkins GitLab CI).
- Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
