Job Responsibilities:
As an engineer you will play a vital role in supporting temporary increases in engineering tasks for ongoing projects as a contractor. Your primary duties will involve processing data compilations and generating reports for a chemical pilot plant. This includes operating the pilot plant collaborating with operators to gather data and ensuring the production of hydrocarbon/chemical products. You will utilize your knowledge of Word Excel and Visio for tasks such as mass balances data compilations and report generation. Shiftwork occasionally 24/5 and 24/7 will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with operators to generate data and hydrocarbon/chemical products.
Utilize Word Excel and Visio for mass balances data compilations and report generation.
Operating chemical pilot plants troubleshooting installing equipment and participating in maintenance activities.
Assist with safety/procedural and operation instructions prepare samples and clean up pilot units.
Work with pumps heat trace hightemperature oils drum heaters and chemicals.
Supervise operations of pilot plants and contribute to plant design work.
Utilize technical strength in quick ruleofthumb design calculations (pressure drop heat transfer velocity calculation pipe sizing/particle transport).
Implement control systems for chemical processes using various strategies.
May be involved in mechanical design work tied to process engineering.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field.
Familiarity with computer software especially Excel and Word (SolidWorks/CAD experience is a plus).
Multitasking abilities including thermodynamic calculations and mechanical aptitude for building process systems.
