About the role
NSW Public Works has an opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join the North Coast Team. Offices are in Lismore Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie. Please nominate your preferred location on your application.
The Procurement Officer is a member of the Construction Procurement and Social Benefits Team which provides construction procurement advice and services to clients including unaccredited Agencies. The role will provide procurement expertise and assist stakeholders to plan source and manage procurement arrangement in line with NSW Government Policy and NSW Public Works procedures to effectively meet organisational and business objectives.
Act as the Champion for NSW Public Works in reviewing Contracts to ensure accuracy and alignment with NSW Government policy and financial and standardisation processes.
Provide reports analyses and advise on a regular basis to support procurement decision making.
The role provides an exciting change to drive procurement compliance across NSW Public Works through the promotion and education of the NSW Government policy.

About you
To be successful in this role our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and contracts environment including relevant qualifications or equivalent with an understanding of financial systems.
- Demonstrated experience with an understanding of HP Content Manager (or similar) records management systems.
- Understanding and application of the principles of responsible financial management in procurement with an understanding of and commitment to procurement rules in line with NSW Government guidelines with special emphasis on probity.
- A demonstrated ability to build maintain and use relationships with clients staff and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to create effective procurement spend compliance and savings reports as well as written reports.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and problem solving.
- Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to initiate prioritise and complete required tasks to meet strict deadlines.
- Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to drive and work in regional locations which may include overnight stays.
