The Program Coordinator II under general supervision works collaboratively with leadership to plan develop and implement programs for the newly awarded National Center for Infrastructure Transformation (NCIT). This position is funded by a grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding.

This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities:
Provides support and coordination of a variety of business activities requiring independent judgment including generating and reviewing business documents technical reports and assisting in monitoring accounts and budget data as directed by the Center Director. Work with staff from units internal and external to the Center to develop and implement project management tools for the Center and integrate these tools with other PVAMU systems. Aid in the proposal development process by brainstorming developing and providing innovative ideas to potential sponsors and partners; meeting with potential research sponsors; building potential teaming relationships with other partners; authoring effective research proposals; and proactively developing and presenting research needs statements to potential sponsors.
Interact with sponsors and potential clients including preparation and delivery of presentations to existing and potential sponsors as well as in academic and conference settings. Assist with updating and maintain the Centers Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) document. Serves as Center Liaison with the Office of Sponsored Programs Accounts Payable Procurement Treasury Services Compliance Office and Human Resources. Assist the Budget Specialist with reviewing and auditing the reconciliations of monthly expenditures. Utilizing project management principles and strategies to assist with project tracking and reporting. Develops and maintains document management systems. Use these document management systems to maintain all proposal and project files for use by the Director.
Submit reports according to the University Transportation Center (UTC) reporting requirements and deadlines. Take the lead on preparing all Center reports. Works with the Director to draft finalize and submit SemiAnnual Progress Report as well as the annual Performance Indicators Report. Gathering information from competitive project researchers and consortium partner Associate Directors for use in the reports. Coordinates and prepares ad hoc reports requested by USDOT.
Records and tracks Center performance measures. Update relevant Transportation Research Board and DOT databases with project products at the beginning and at the completion of each project. Monitor submission of competitive project progress reports. Follow up with partners to resolve any performance issues. Maintain project summaries on website for all consortium proposal projects. Provides project management support to all consortium principal investigators (PIs) using schedule financial and work product tracking and management tools. Coordinate with all consortium partner PIs on project proposal preparation project management and administration budgets payroll deliverables and reporting. Receive review and process project proposal & budget submissions. Coordinate with PIs to revise proposals and budgets as needed. Review project research reports from PIs. Maintain a checklist of reporting requirements for each PI and notify PIs of deadlines and resources for completing reports. Track and report overdue deliverables.
Assist the Communications Manager with the design/maintenance of the Center website creation of brochures posters press releases and other documents to advertise the Center and its activities. Assist in development of outreach and technology transfer materials to disseminate research results. This includes any or all web site tasks (e.g. assisting the Communications Manager with revising current web pages writing content reorganizing page structures) as needed.
Work with the Budget Specialist II to utilize Canopy and Excel spreadsheet records to assess the status of budgets under the purview of the Center Director. Work with the Budget Specialist II to create spreadsheets and charts to report this information to the Director sponsors and others as requested.
Participate in staff development training workshops and courses to improve skills.Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree.
Four years of related experience.
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in a scientific business administration or closely related field.
Four or more years of related work experience professional nonclerical in general office.
Experience managing sponsored research projects.
Job experience demonstrating attention to detail.
Job experience with financial and purchasing systems (such as Maestro Canopy FAMIS Concur Aggie Buy).
Familiarity with Institutional Review Board (IRB) and compliance procedures.
