Summary of Essential Duties:
As a member of the patient care team you will be responsible for positive patient relations proper telephone communication and verification of patient information by interviewing patients and confirming the purpose of the visit. The Medical Assistant is also responsible to prepare the patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests taking blood pressure weight and temperature and reporting patient history summary.
You will also be trained to handle appointment scheduling and to perform routine duties associated with the collection and maintenance of current patient demographics and insurance information.
The Medical Assistant is able to demonstrate a level of expertise in performing these responsibilities based on the standard work with the ability skill and knowledge to work in more than one specialty area.
The Medical Assistant should have good communication interpersonal customer service organizational and partnership skills. It is vital that the Medical Assistant II demonstrate a level of professionalism that enables them to work with and support their coworkers.
Greet patients
Manage patient care flow and assist with monitoring CSLink message pools and standard work
Prepare patients for provider by reviewing current medications and record in medical record
Take appropriate vital signs
Sets up exam room/procedure rooms appropriately based on patient visit needs
Sweep clinical areas to monitor inventory based on standard work
Assist provider during examination/procedure based on scope of practice as advised by provider
Perform designated diagnostic tests based on scope of practice as directed by the provider
Draw prepare designated lab work and/or specimens as directed by provider
Adhere to all infection prevention standards cleaning sterilization autoclaving procedures
Clean/reprocess equipment and supplies
Administer immunization injections or oral medications
Address patient physician and staff concerns and call out accordingly
Provide assistance in QA measures for suites including recording QC testing on designated equipment
Provide assistance and direct patient inquiries or complaints to appropriate medical staff members and follow up to ensure satisfactory resolution
Explain policies procedures or services to patients using clinical or administrative knowledge based on the scope of practice
Participate in daily huddles and staff meetings
Assist with tracking and monitoring departmentspecific data
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required
- Experience working as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinical/medical office setting. Minimum 1 years Preferred 3 years.
- License/Certification:
