Job Description
SPED ESY Program
Position:Special Education Teachers (up to 30
Reports to: Building Administrator
Dates of Employment:
- 25 days Students attend July 7August 1st Monday Friday
- 4 hours per day (time TBD mornings)
- includes 20 hours 5 days)of curriculum classroom prep and professional development prior to program start June 27July 3
Requirements / Qualifications:
- At least three 3 years successful teaching experience preferred
- Special education teachers: certification appropriate for grade level
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Work with ESY staff to provide support and professional consultation on integrating students with special needs into the summer school program.
- Provide instruction and/or assistance to special education students incorporating curricula and objectives that extend the regular school day curriculum and meet the Individualized Education Program of said students.
- Plan lessons/activities/accommodations as required and/or necessary.
- Provide students opportunities to interact socially with other students in a variety of academic and enrichment programs..
- Report on student progress to Program Administrators Director of Special Education and Assistant Directors of Special Education
- Maintain student attendance and student records
- Complete and submit Progress Reports at the end of ESY
- Perform such tasks as related to the toals and objectives of the Extended School Year Programming
Salary $45 per hour per contract
