MSL Respiratory Western Canada 18 Months

(Preferred Candidate: Living in Calgary Area.

JOB PURPOSE:

As aMedical Science Liaison (MSL) youwillberesponsible for applying your nonpromotional medical acumen to ensure the safe and effective use of GSKs products across our Respiratory portfolio through impactful scientific interactions and support of key external and internal stakeholders in alignment to the therapeutic area Medical Plan. As the MSL within the territory you will collaborate with field partners in a stakeholdercentric approach to provide credible scientific clinical information about our therapies to healthcare professionals external experts organizations and decisionmakers in the specialty care setting and in a manner consistent with GSKs principles for scientific engagement. This role is a therapeutically aligned fieldbased position covering Alberta where frequent travel is required. This is an 18 month contract covering a maternity leave.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be expected to

• Identify establish and maintain scientific peertopeer relationships with key external experts by presenting balanced scientific data supporting advanced medical educational opportunities and providing scientific support with the highest of industry standards following GSK values policies standards applicable laws and regulations.
• Be recognized as the scientific fieldbased partner in the territory and maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of respiratory diseases treatments and the competitive landscape to ensure excellent scientific dialogue and clinical knowledge translation aligned to business strategy.
• Be agile and adaptable to engage and provide value across a continuum of both internal and external stakeholders (i.e. Respirologists ENTs Allergists and community care experts along with other healthcare professionals investigators professional societies organizations advocacy groups and decisionmakers) in a nonpromotional manner and be responsive to unsolicited inquires.
• Be a proactive and solutionsoriented partner as the primary interface between the healthcare community and the internal crossfunctional GSK teams to gather and share back insights that inform current and future business strategies.
• Represents GSK at scientific congresses by providing session/abstract coverage booth staffing coverage leading external expert engagement plans and contributing to scientific end of congress summaries/sharebacks as required.
• Provide scientific training for GSK sales representatives regarding GSK products and the conditions they treat utilizing approved sales training materials.
• Assist the medical clinical and HEOR teams with Investigator Initiated Studies and real world evidence projects as needed and support identification of potential clinical trial sites for clinical development activities in Canada as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• An advanced postgraduate scientific degree (MD Ph.D. PharmD) is an asset but not required
• Bilingualism in French and English scientific discussion (written and verbal) is an asset
• Exceptional aptitude to apply and leverage scientific and medical data with scientific credibility while enabling peertopeer discussion and debate is essential.
• Excellent public speaker with outstanding scientific presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on crossfunctional teamwork and strategic of medical affairs plan in your territory.
• Knowledge of regulations governing medical information exchange with healthcare professionals within the Canadian pharmaceutical environment.
• Sound negotiation leadership and organization skills.
• Familiarity with reimbursement processes in Canada
• A valid drivers license is required for this fieldbased position.
• Ability to work independently and ability to travel throughout the territory up to 70 with evenings and weekends involved
• As this is a Mat Leave cover for an MSL in Alberta an Albertabased MSL is highly preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in respiratory 2 years) in a medical affairs position with established relationships/connections with associated healthcare professionals in the Respiratory space is strongly preferred.
